These terms are the agreement between you and Aurea. Please read the section on medical care — it matters more than the rest.
By creating an account or using Aurea, you accept these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the app.
Aurea supports self-management of tinnitus. It is not a medical device, and it does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition. It is not a substitute for assessment by a doctor or audiologist.
The Impact Check in Aurea is a self-tracking questionnaire written for this app. It is not a clinical assessment and not a diagnosis. The Relief Program is educational self-management material, not therapy delivered by a licensed therapist.

Never delay seeking medical advice because of something you read or heard in this app.
Aurea is not an emergency service and nobody monitors it in real time. If you are in crisis, thinking about harming yourself, or facing a medical emergency, contact your local emergency number or a crisis line immediately.
The AI coach is not a crisis service and must not be relied on in an emergency.
You must be at least 16 years old. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you enter, and for keeping your login details secure. Tell us promptly at nikarauk@gmail.com if you believe someone else has accessed your account.
Sound relief only helps at a sensible volume. Please:
Prolonged listening at high volume can damage hearing. Binaural content requires headphones to work as intended, which makes volume discipline more important, not less.
You are responsible for the volume you choose.
Coach replies are produced by an AI model. They may be incomplete, out of date or simply wrong, and they are not professional medical, psychological or legal advice. Do not make decisions about your health based on them alone.
The community exists so people with tinnitus can support each other. When posting, do not:
You keep ownership of what you post. By posting, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store and display that content within Aurea so other users can see it. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account.
We may remove content or suspend accounts that breach these rules. You can report anything that concerns you using the report control on each post.
Aurea offers a free tier and a paid subscription, Aurea Plus. Paid plans are sold and billed through the App Store or Google Play, not by us.
Cancelling does not delete your account or your data. The free tier remains available.
Aurea, its design, its written program material and its software belong to us or our licensors. We grant you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app for your own tinnitus self-management.
Some soundscapes are third-party field recordings used under Creative Commons licences; these are credited under Settings › Audio Credits. Guided session narration is synthesised speech produced for Aurea.
You may not copy, resell, redistribute or reverse engineer the app or its content, attempt to bypass its security or access controls, or access it through automated means.
We aim to keep Aurea running well, but we cannot promise uninterrupted or error-free service. We may change, suspend or withdraw features, and will give notice of significant changes where we reasonably can.
We provide Aurea with reasonable care and skill. To the extent permitted by law, we exclude implied warranties and are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss arising from your reliance on the app in place of professional medical advice.
Where we are liable, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.
You can stop at any time, and delete your account from Settings › Privacy & Data. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly breach these terms.
If we change these terms we will update the version and effective date above, and surface material changes in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use Aurea after that means you accept the new terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute.
If you are a consumer, this does not remove the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in your local courts.
